Tour Guide at Youngstown State University
She/her/hers
Class of 2028
Hometown: East Liverpool, OH
Major: Intervention Specialist/Integrated Language Arts Education
My favorite college memory is...
the simple moments shared with my friends! That includes grabbing coffee between classes, making plans for lunch, late night study sessions at the library, or adventuring to Boardman to go shopping.
I chose Youngstown State because...
it is the only school in Ohio that offers a dual program in Special Education and Integrated Language Arts Education! I held strong passions for both subjects, and went back and forth on my decision to declare a major at other universities. When I saw that YSU offered a dual program where I could achieve both teaching licenses, I was so excited! I knew YSU was for me when I toured campus and was given the opportunity to speak with members of the education department. It is one of YSU's oldest and well-rounded programs, and I was placed in local classrooms for observations my very first semester!
My advice to incoming students is...
to get involved! How can you make memories just sitting at home or in your dorm? The friendships YSU has given me will last a lifetime. Get out there and join a club, organization, attend a sporting event, or campus event! You will not regret it!
